Franny was left by her mother when she was five and taken in by her uncle. A decade later, she discovers her mother is seriously ill and agrees to see her despite her reluctance. Through this encounter, Franny begins to understand that love can involve difficult and painful decisions. The story explores whether she can move past her childhood and come to terms with the reality of her mother’s choices.
