Hana Monogatari

An elderly woman named Hanayo, recently widowed, experiences solitude for the first time after attending a Buddhist memorial service for her late husband. During a walk in town, she encounters a cosmetics shop and meets Yoshiko Doujima, a strikingly beautiful woman, and is instantly captivated. Hanayo, who had stopped using makeup years earlier due to her husband's disapproval, rediscovers a sense of joy when she tries it again with Yoshiko's assistance.
