Ako is employed in an office in Tokyo and is about to get married. After her fiancé’s father dies, she chooses to go alone to his funeral in Shiojima, an inland island and the man’s hometown. Unaware of the situation, she discovers that her fiancé’s family is making efforts to stop her from returning to Tokyo.
