A 19-year-old girl named Mitsuko was sold into servitude in the Yoshiwara district of 1924 after her family fell into debt. Unaware of her fate, she became an oiran known as Harukoma. The story is based on the real-life accounts from the memoirs *Growing Brightly* and *Harukoma Diaries*, detailing the harsh experiences of a Taishō-era oiran.
