A young girl and her twin brother live with their father, who is an inventor. He builds unusual machines intended to benefit his children. After a lightning strike hits their home, the father is turned into a plush toy. Despite his new form, he remains articulate, mobile, and continues creating. The twins' daily life becomes more enjoyable as a result.
