This manga is an adaptation of the *Taiheiki*, a historical Japanese epic from the late 14th century that chronicles events between 1319 and 1367, focusing on the Nanboku-chō period. It portrays the conflict between the Northern Court led by Ashikaga Takauji in Kyoto and the Southern Court under Emperor Go-Daigo in Yoshino. The work also incorporates the one-shot *Gessekai Shinshi*, a separate short story.
