Hien Dokuritsu Sentoutai

A fighter pilot in the Imperial Japanese Army, Second Lieutenant Matsumoto flies the Kawasaki Ki-61 'Hien' during combat in the Solomons, New Guinea, and the Philippines. He frequently encounters numerically superior Allied air forces, overcoming these challenges through his strategic thinking and support from squadron leader Ozawa and mechanic Hino. His last assignment involves providing escort for Kamikaze aircraft departing from the Philippines.
