Yamato lost his childhood friend Shiki, who was killed in a ritual. Unable to accept Shiki's death, Yamato becomes consumed by his emotions and, years later, enters a forbidden sacred palace to search for him. There, he discovers that Shiki was kept alive and given immense power to become the nation's ruler. Yamato resolves to suppress his feelings and serve Shiki as his loyal follower, though complications arise.
