A young woman named Tomoe travels to Tokyo to visit her boyfriend, who attends university there. She is in the city for a week as part of a summer course at a preparatory school. During her time there, she feels a growing sense of distance from her boyfriend, who has transitioned into adulthood. The final day of her visit coincides with Tomoe's birthday.
