Magic users use the "Lamp of Torn Flames" to form contracts with one another, enhancing their abilities to combat Monsters. Corze Letta, a new candidate from the 'Halves' race, seeks a partner from the 'Genies' race to share the lamp with. She is matched with Rau Laaran, a Genie who proves to be more challenging than anticipated.
