A prolonged conflict between humans and demons has pushed humanity to the brink. Macha, a skilled alchemist, serves on the front lines. Her mother and engineer, Dilia, announces the creation of a homunculus through alchemy, intended to fight demons and reduce human casualties. The team is excited, but Macha feels uncertain about her future role as a warrior.
