A college student who cherished books since childhood dies and is reborn as Myne, a frail five-year-old in a poor military family in an unfamiliar world. This world has limited literacy and very few books, which are expensive to obtain. Determined to live among books, Myne decides to create them herself. Her objective is to become a librarian. The narrative follows her efforts to produce books and achieve her goal.
