Linda, daughter of Count Sharot in Degrus, finds herself in danger during a royal party when intruders enter. A harpist named Julius saves her, revealing the intruders are not from Zaromon but are instead agents of Count Zolge, a traitor. Linda is puzzled by her recognition of Julius, and he, in turn, knows her name despite having never met her before.
