Hototogisu

In late 19th-century Tokyo, Namiko, the daughter of an army lieutenant, endures hardship after her mother's death and the arrival of a cruel stepmother. Her aunt, acting with kindness, connects her with Navy General Takeo Kawashima. Namiko's life appears to improve, but her newfound happiness proves uncertain.
