Houkago no Mahou Sensou

Mages conduct secret battles for control of Magic Quartz, the source of their power. A conflict erupts at an academy as factions compete for dominance through a "Magic War (Black Arts)" centered on quartz production. Sankurou, a boy without magical ability and indifferent to the mage world, becomes involved in the conflict with his childhood friend Neneko. As former allies turn against them, he must find a way to protect her, a girl unaware of the magical struggle. The story unfolds as a school-based battle filled with shifting loyalties and hidden agendas.
