Hyakunichi Coffee

Hoping to reconnect with the roots of her late father, Xiaoming leaves her familiar life in Japan and travels to Taiwan to attend university in his homeland. Navigating an unfamiliar country on her own proves far more difficult than anticipated, and while struggling to secure housing before classes begin she wanders into Treasure Hill, a quiet historic settlement tucked within Taipei. There she discovers Hyakunichi Coffee, a small shop carrying an urban legend that it can resolve the deepest troubles of those who step inside. Run by the enigmatic Meng, the place doubles as a discreet "Dream Laboratory" that explores fragments of memory. Drawn in by recurring dreams of her father and guided by imagery of the Chestnut Tiger butterfly, Xiaoming begins a surreal passage through memory palaces that move beyond the limits of time and space.
