Machida develops feelings for Kitayama, an older student who enjoys making her laugh. She confesses to him, but he turns her down, mentioning that she is already in a relationship with someone who wants to be a comedian. Determined to win his approval, Machida attempts to become a comedian herself, though she initially fails. Her efforts take a new turn when she unexpectedly meets Kitayama again.
