Tooru Sugamo, a 37-year-old man, receives a magical lamp and uses it to fulfill a childhood fantasy by becoming a novelist. He acquires the abilities he once imagined as a young writer. However, the powers he chooses are based on ideas from his eighth-grade self, which prove to be unoriginal and unsuitable for his current life, especially causing complications in his marriage.
