IS: Infinite Stratos

In a near-future setting, Japan develops the Infinite Stratos, or IS, originally intended for space exploration but later adapted for military use and eventually transformed into a competitive sport. The IS can only be operated by women, a fact widely accepted until Ichika Orimura, the younger brother of the undefeated female pilot Chihuyu Orimura, is discovered to have the ability to pilot it. As the only male capable of operating an IS, Ichika is admitted to the IS Academy, an institution where all students are female. His sister, Chihuyu, serves as his instructor. Ichika struggles with the attention he receives as the sole male student, while female classmates compete for his affection. Amidst the distractions, he works to develop his piloting skills.
