A college student struggling to secure employment, Makoto Yoshino repeatedly faces rejection from job interviews. After tripping down a staircase on her way to yet another interview, she awakens in a fantasy world. Attempting to return home, she discovers a facility for lost children and begins working there, taking on her first job ever, caring for children of various races and species.
