A 35-year-old unmarried woman named Emi Kotani is laid off after her company's declining performance. She attends a farewell party, drinks heavily, and creates a disturbance involving her difficult coworker, Kadokura. Later, she visits him to offer an apology, only to receive an unexpected proposal from him.
