Itoko Doushi

A compilation of early works by Ima Ichiko, spanning from 1991 to 1995, features four distinct stories. In one, two cousins reconnect after drifting apart, their relationship as complex as in their youth. Another follows Sakaguchi Akira, who reunites with his childhood "Uncle Mitsuo," now living under unusual conditions with a mysterious young girl. A third story centers on Ryo and his older nephew-in-law Tomoteru, whose intimate relationship is complicated by the birth of Tomoteru's sibling. The final piece involves a folklorist drawn into a local tale about a mermaid.
