A girl named Minhee is taken in by the family of her male friend, Pilho, after losing her parents in a car accident at 12. She faces mistreatment and prejudice within the household. Pilho becomes a figure of familial support for her, though he does not consider her family. Over time, his feelings for her begin to shift beyond friendship. When a new neighbor moves in next door, Minhee becomes interested in him. This man, named Kang Muyeol, is also newly hired as a teacher at her school.
