A woman with no memory named Shisanmei arrives in a lawless region of China during the late Ming period. She is given the "Swords of the Seven Stars" by an old hermit and begins a journey with Anji, a boy seeking to free his father from unjust imprisonment. Their group is joined by a third, enigmatic companion.
