A man finds himself reincarnated in a crime-ridden city's slums and becomes a test subject in a brutal experiment. The facility he's in is destroyed by a man he recognizes, revealing this world to be that of a hopeless reverse harem novel. After escaping, he lives a normal life until moving next door to the female lead. He discovers he's an extra in the story and now the lead's neighbor. According to the novel's plot, the female lead will save the villain, who will later become obsessed with her. However, the villain, Lakius Avalon, is found unconscious in front of the man's house. Lakius is both the dark world's king and the man from the research facility. The man kicks him, saying he's at the wrong house.
