Jinki: Extended

A girl named Akao Hiiragi in Japan has only retained memories from three years ago, with the rest of her past lost. She encounters a man named Ryohei, who reveals she is a "cognate," a person capable of piloting powerful robots known as Jinki. Around the world, towns are being destroyed by unexplained nuclear-like explosions, a crisis referred to as the "Lost Life Phenomenon." Akao learns these attacks are not natural but are carried out by a group known as the Hachi Shojin, who are also cognates and operate their own Jinki. Despite her reluctance to engage in battle, Akao must take up piloting a Jinki to defend those she cares about.
