Jinmen Yuke
金门羽客
During the late Northern Song Dynasty, the Jurchen people gained dominance in the north and founded the Jin Dynasty. The Song and Jin forces later allied to defeat the Liao Dynasty, recovering some of the Sixteen Prefectures of Yan Yun. While the Song people celebrated the regained territory, the Jins began to look toward the Song with aggressive intentions. A Taoist priest named Jiang Feixiong, acting on his master’s instructions, traveled from Mount Kunlun to the capital. He was appointed by Emperor Huizong to lead the “Bureau of Deified Spirits” and given the title “Golden Gate Immortal.”
