Jorougumo no Kotowari

A manga based on the fifth novel in Natsuhiko Kyogoku's Hyakki Yakou Series, it centers on two students at a private, religious all-girls school who are not from wealthy backgrounds. One of them, Sayako, reveals to her friend Miyuki that she is being sexually abused by a teacher. After learning about a school legend involving a demonic curse that can kill, the two decide to investigate. Though Miyuki is skeptical, she helps Sayako perform the ritual for emotional relief. They consult a classmate, Yuko, who is rumored to have used the same method to kill someone. As they proceed, they begin to realize the curse might be real and could lead to serious, terrifying outcomes. Miyuki soon finds herself trapped in a worsening situation.
