A man working at a gallery that sells counterfeit art finds himself in an unexpected situation after a confrontation with a man who seems familiar. Earlier, a skilled forger named Yahiro Morishita, who can replicate famous paintings after a single viewing, meets a man named Kaji and a childhood friend, setting off a chain of events that leads to a dangerous predicament. In another story, Yahiro and Kaji become entangled in a complicated inheritance dispute involving a deceased artist, his wife, and their son, with a servant's motives remaining unclear. A separate narrative follows two boys at an all-boys boarding school, where one is mistakenly labeled as gay due to his open flirtatiousness, while his friend is more reserved. A final segment explores relationships and rivalries among various characters, including a returnee named Jun and a son from a prior story. The first chapter, though listed first, takes place after the others.
