Rei Inou, a young woman struggling with deep feelings of hopelessness, visits Aokigahara forest, an area near Mount Fuji known for its somber reputation and unsettling ambiance. During her time there, she experiences a strange and inexplicable occurrence that propels her into a world beyond the ordinary, involving elements of the supernatural.
