Kami no Toride

A manga created to mark the 30th anniversary of a renowned artist's career, it was serialized in a magazine in September 1974. The story centers on a character inspired by the artist, whose deep dedication to drawing manga is portrayed against the backdrop of increasing conflict toward the end of the Pacific War. While the artist noted in a later publication that much of the narrative is fictional, many events reflect his personal experiences, which he also described in other written works.
