In 2029, virtual reality dominates both professional and recreational activities. Jin Tarou works at a convenience store connected to a university hospital, using the job to fund his development of a virtual reality server. His only comfort is a regular customer, Hiiragi Maika, who consistently orders the same lunch and drink. During a routine server check, Jin discovers Maika logged into the system, not only playing but also working as a waitress within the virtual environment.
