Itsuko often skips school without explanation, living a relaxed and unstructured life. After getting her ears pierced, she catches the attention of Yaegashi-sensei, a teacher who is well-liked by students. This leads Itsuko to become confused and preoccupied with whether Yaegashi's behavior toward her is genuine or if it has a hidden, more personal meaning.
