Hime Sakuragaike has been in love with her childhood friend Akira Yonezawa since they were young. After learning that Akira identifies as female, Hime supports her, though they keep it private for several years. When Akira begins high school and starts living full-time as a girl, she draws attention from others. To protect Akira from being mocked or targeted, Hime chooses to stand up for her whenever needed. Eventually, Hime decides the best way to prevent Akira from being isolated is to take on a role that mirrors Akira's own experience.
