Makana is a wind caller, a human with the ability to summon wind people who bring prosperity to the land. According to tradition, she must find a companion, but she resists, fearing it will limit her independence. Instead, she encounters a wind person who is self-centered and unrestrained. Their unexpected meeting leads to a binding agreement, making them companions despite her reluctance.
