In October of Cosmic Era 71, following the conclusion of the Earth and PLANT conflict at the Second Battle of Yakin Due, Jess Rabble, a mobile suit pilot and journalist, seeks to document global events from the cockpit. Meeting Lowe Gear of the Junk Guild, he is given a new mobile suit, the Astray Out Frame, to aid in his mission. Accompanied by a sentient computer named '8', Jess travels across Earth to capture ongoing conflicts.
