In an alternate version of Japan where World War II has abruptly ended, a war-torn man named Kihei Janome returns to the capital during a short-lived period of peace. Known as "the demon soldier who killed a thousand people," he narrowly avoided execution. However, after receiving a mysterious order from a strange priestess, Kihei is thrust into the front lines of a new conflict.
