Kijin Gentoushou

A young boy named Jinta and his sister escape their home in the Edo era and take shelter in a mountain village. As an adult, Jinta becomes a skilled swordsman dedicated to protecting the village shrine's priestess. Tasked with killing a demon that endangers the shrine, he faces the creature in the forest and discovers it reveals information about an event 170 years in the future. The demon tells Jinta he will have to confront it again in that distant time. This sets in motion a journey across different time periods as Jinta pursues the demon and grapples with his own inner darkness.
