In the middle of the Edo period, a time of prolonged peace without any deaths from conflict, the second son of the Fujimi family, Kikinosuke Fujimi, faced the challenge of finding employment. As the family could only have one heir, the younger sons were left to seek their own paths. Kikinosuke's journey begins as he looks for work outside the family's samurai legacy.
