Mysterious graffiti appears unexpectedly, moving as though alive. These images became known as "living pictures," gaining popularity and fetching high prices. The source of these artworks is unclear, and the origin of the name "Kilroy" is unknown, yet many believe they are the work of an artist by that name. Suzume is a young artist who dreams of creating art as impressive as Kilroy's, but has not yet succeeded. Her routine is disrupted one night when she unexpectedly encounters Kilroy in person.
