In the early Showa period, Tsuyuko, 27, is the daughter of a kimono shop owner and dreams of succeeding in the family business, Tominoya, where she grew up. When Aki-chan, a younger person she once considered like a little brother, returns home as a promising student at the Imperial University, Tsuyuko's life begins to change.
