On December 11, 2022, 8,000 artificial satellites, both active and inactive, suddenly lost control and fell from orbit. The event, caused by an unknown party, created a dazzling display of light as the satellites burned up in the atmosphere. This spectacle was later dubbed "the world's most beautiful act of terrorism" and became known as the "Great Meteor Shower." No satellites struck the Earth's surface, though some injuries occurred from accidents caused by people watching the event. While no one on Earth died, there was one recorded fatality resulting from the meteor shower.
