This romance unfolds around the Nagaoka Festival Grand Fireworks Show, one of Japan's three largest displays and an event that pulls hundreds of thousands of visitors into Niigata Prefecture each year. Makoto, a Tokyo teenager with no confidence and few social instincts, and Aki, the beautiful and accomplished class president everyone admires, are linked by a single drawing of fireworks. As its mystery pulls them along, the clock runs down on a decision only they can make.
