Shoshin, who enjoys photography, encounters Ei Ubara after school. Ei is alone, crying, and drawing a faceless figure. Impressed, Shoshin approaches him the next day and asks Ei to pose for photos. Ei declines at first but agrees after setting specific conditions for the arrangement.
