A mahjong competition is popular in Gensokyo. Youmu, who is inexperienced and unskilled at the game, must compete against the best players to defend her mistress and herself. The story is structured with each chapter originally divided into three segments, later compiled into volumes. Additional material is included in the form of three extra chapters.
