Kirinkan Graffiti

A young woman named Tae Morikawa becomes the caretaker of a boarding house called Kirinkan after her great-grandmother's death. One night, she finds a feverish woman on the road and helps her. The next day, she discovers the woman is Kikuko, the wife of Shuji Usami, a former colleague Tae once admired. Kikuko reveals she left home after an argument with Shuji and refuses to return. Tae approaches Shuji to arrange for him to take her back but witnesses a side of him she finds unpleasant. Tae then offers Kikuko a place to stay at Kirinkan. The story follows the interactions between Tae, Kikuko, Shuji, and the other residents of the boarding house.
