Holly finds a valuable painting she had sketched in her luggage just before leaving Italy for England. She becomes involved in a serious crime after being betrayed by someone she trusted. She boards a train heading to Rome and enters a first-class compartment, where she meets Matteo, a man who quickly recognizes she is fleeing. Despite this, he does not turn her in to the authorities. Instead, he takes her to his home and takes possession of her passport, leaving her uncertain about what will happen next.
