Ella takes a job as a personal assistant to learn about filmmaking, working under Italian producer Santo Corretti. Known for his arrogance and charm, Santo comes from a prominent Sicilian family and attempts to flirt with Ella. She remains committed to avoiding a personal relationship with him. One day, he calls her unexpectedly and appears unusually vulnerable. His usual self-assurance gone, he seems troubled. Moved by his distress, Ella feels sympathy and responds by kissing him.
