A Demon Lord emerges, and the world looks for a savior. In a quiet village, Foyle Austin and his friend Yu both aspire to become heroes, though legend states only one can. A goddess names Foyle as the "Hero," but he knows the truth—his title is a deception. Rather than being the one to defeat the Demon Lord, he is fated to be defeated by the real hero, whom he suspects is Yu. After forcing Yu out of his group, Foyle becomes the rival of the true hero, his abilities diminishing as Yu's grow. Though he won't save the world, Foyle encounters an elf in need and decides to show that even those labeled as villains can still act heroically.
