A researcher with a lifelong passion for animals is conducting a survey in the forest when a large object falls from the sky. Initially terrified that it might be a predator, he is surprised when the creature—a Kurokosagi—begins to show affection toward him. Over time, their interactions become more frequent, and the creature grows increasingly fond of his presence.
